Rustic Farmhouse Kitchen Design – Carnation, WA
Recently I had the opportunity to photograph my second project with Sheila Mayden Interiors; the last project that I had the pleasure of working with Sheila was the Magnolia home in Seattle, WA. The project that she wanted me to photograph was of a rustic kitchen design that she did in Carnation. Though I had never heard of Carnation before, she said that it was a long drive, over an hour from Kent. However, she offered to carpool. Being someone who gets bored on long drives by myself, I took her up on the offer.
My first impression of the kitchen was that it was large and beautiful. The rustic, farmhouse design fit the homeowner’s interior style perfectly. The use of reclaimed wood was used throughout. The cabinets paired perfectly with a gorgeous knotted finish, topped off with a rough cut black granite counter. Additionally, the laundry room/mudroom, and powder bath seamlessly fit into the design of the kitchen.
Sheila does a wonderful job marrying the style of her client’s into her projects. This kitchen was a joy to photograph and I look forward to the chance to capture another one of her projects.
